This guide is to introduce the various ways we encourage people to use and benefit from the site.

Please feel free to submit any questions of comments you have on this page at the end. You can contact any of the (currently 3) site support team members using the Contact Us page ... and we'd be delighted to here from you.

Guiding Principles

Quality - To keep the site clear and helpful for all it's users it is important that the quality of the site's main content (news, feature articles, events, jobs etc) is kept at a high standard. Please double check your content before you submit.

Maximum Interaction/Networking - Participation is also encouraged at the widest level in the region. Any member of the public with a positive contribution to make is encouraged to participate in the public discussion forums and comment facilities. Normal forum community conduct will be expected and maintained by forum moderators.(see forum rules)

Site User Roles

Guests

Guests (general public) have read access across the site but may also submit comments on various articles. (If a guest wants to contribute to the forums then they need to register first - see below.)

Guest facilities to look out for include: News and feature articles (with comment submission), public discussion forums, calendars, directory, jobs/volunteer opportunities, etc.

Registered Users

The registered user role is for Christians and others in the region who have a commitmen to working together for positive change in our community. Registration is simple and automatic following confirmation of your email address.

Registered users can:

  • Contribute content of various types (events, news, features, job/volunteer opportunities, directory entry etc.) using this Content Submission Form . This same form can be used for submitting changes to any existing content as well, in particular changes to directory details. Then, prior to publishing, our site editors will allocate this material to the appropriate areas of the site and edit where necessary.
  • Take part in discussions on the various forums. The forum software also includes a membership lists allowing you to contact other registered users (but avoids giving out email addresses). There's also a personal message service (a useful alternative to email).

Note. Private forum facilities are also available. These are available for restricted access groups with a need for confidentiality, for example for those involved in confidential prayer. Access to a restricted groups of registered users and is usually by invitation.

Authors

Authors are registered users who have been invited by the site team to submit more regular news, features and calendar information for a specific Action Zone they are involved/interested in. Authors undergo some training on the site and it's editing system. To help authors in their role, there's a comprehensive Author's Guide and help is always available from site technical support.

Editors

Editors have the role of ensuring site main content complies with quality standards before it is published. Initially this role will be undertaken by the site team but in due course it is hoped to delegate some or this role to trained up editors covering each of the Action Zone.
