Unchosen are conducting an public awareness campaign in central Bristol early December. Why not give them a hand and help turn the human trafficking tide.... Check out their website too at: www.unchosen.org.uk
4pm Friday 11th December - 4pm Saturday 12th December 2009
This 24hr PR initiative is part of a five-week campaign of events leading up to Human Rights Day on 10th December. It will run immediately after a series of trafficking related films shown on Fridays throughout November at St. Stephens
Church (click here for more information). The sole goal of the whole campaign is to raise the general public's awareness of the tragic and on going issues of 21st Century Human Trafficking here in Bristol.
How can you help?
By committing to take one hour only within the 24hrs, this will be allocated to you as an organisation or group and you will then own this hour. We will expect you to gather your own volunteers for the hour slot. We recommend during daytime hours until 2am around 10-15 people, from 2am until 8am a minimum of 5.
Each group will have their own lead contact. A complete list of every organisation taking part within the initiative will be given to each leader, unless your group prefer to volunteer anonymously, please make this clear.
What will you be doing?
Simply handing out the provided trafficking leaflets to the passing general public.
Where:
One nominated site within the centre of Bristol tbc by the Police.
Health and Safety
We have done a Risk Analysis and will provide every group leader with a comprehensive guide, including clothing, toilet facilities and security. Unfortunately due to our insurance policy nobody under the age of 18 may take part.
